Nervous system regulation in practice looks like knowing what brings you back to yourself when you've been overstimulated or depleted. It looks like building your environment intentionally: who you spend time with, how much you're committing to, what kind of stimulation you're taking in and when.
It means recognizing the signs that you're approaching your edge before you go over it. Irritability, brain fog, a sense of being slightly outside yourself. These are not random. They're signals. And learning to read them gives you back your agency.
It also means advocating for your own nervous system without apologizing for it. You need more transition time, more quiet, more space. That's not high maintenance. That's accurate self-knowledge.
You don't need to be less sensitive. You need a life that's built to actually fit you.
